Cannot think of a movie that better encapsulates the struggles and triumphs of making art and finding community through the people you make it with. There's a valuable lesson here for any aspiring or working artist: while creating something from a place of passion and heart doesn't guarantee that it'll be good, it practically guarantees that it'll find an audience however large or small, resonate and be remembered. Burton understood this, gave the story the respect it deserved and struck the perfect balance between sentimentality and goofiness.
