The jaunty and overly bouncy Ocean’s Eleven-esque soundtrack felt mismatched for such a tight and sexy moody broody examination of a true psychopathic love story, but maybe you need to cut the tension somehow so the audience doesn’t entirely grind their teeth away.

Sometimes I want a little more subtlety in the winks in an outlandish sci-fi, but Robby Patty doubling down (pun intended) on his whacky era is fun to watch. Is it weird I want a Creeper plushie?

Intentional or not, I walked away from this movie feeling similarly to how I might feel observing an immense brutalist concrete structure: impressed by the size and big swings taken, but questioning why it’s cold and impersonal.

There’s a ton of amazing visuals and sounds that made it worth seeing in theaters, but my back felt all 3.5hrs of it during the second half.

Everyone is so hot in this movie who cares about anything else? We already know the bigger the budget Guy Ritchie gets, the worse the movie, but the hotter the cast. So bravo!

All this criticism about it being a bad version of Inglouriois Basterds. Isn’t that the point? Even the score is so on the nose a nod (or cheeky wink?) to Quentin.

The only thing shocking is having to witness Rory Kinnear doing something weird again.
