I haven't been this thoroughly moved by a movie in ages. crying at the end and the wall out of the theater. it wasn't sad, just the welling sensation of hope and contentment that the last scene filled me with was enough. i could watch the film again and again. Parvathy maushi is a (kind of) woman I've seen and known, and to see her and her struggles on a big screen, appreciated across the world feels surreal. I think everyone should watch this movie.

Conclave 2024
i think about cardinal lawrence's sermon on certainty on a regular basis. what I went into think it was a snoozefest old men in room talking movie was instead an very gripping, moving, and visually stunning film about the catholic church and faith. the story is not hard to follow, and while some might see that as a fault, I find that simplicity has a charm.

Robert Pattinson's Mickey (17) is almost Shinji-like in character. I liked Nasha very much, wish we got to see more of her capability as a soldier/cop/whatever. Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette are very entertaining dictators, with Ruffalo channeling his inner DJT. Collette's character also seems awfully similar to Tilda Swinton's in Okja, though with the mania dialed…
