Obviously this movie has become something of a touchy subject, but ignoring all that in this review.
It was definitely slow paced and there’s scenes that could’ve been cut out and filled in with more impactful character building and story building. But it showed domestic abuse in a very real light. There was definitely some really great concepts and I can appreciate them trying to back up those concepts with gore to make you unsettled enough to take it seriously.
But…
I really think this was a missed opportunity and could’ve been done a thousand times better.
It’s really disappointing because around the middle of the movie I started to get hope they would save it, but it only got worse.
I wouldn’t make a movie about how painful it is…

Just as good as the first one, love the surprise of it being a prequel.
The way the pit symbolises human nature and that children still have a chance at escape is perfect.

This movie is extremely well made, I am very into ethics and dissecting the human brain and this movie did this perfectly. The human reaction to downsizing was shown perfectly.
Even though not too much action happened during this film, I loved every second of it!
This is a much watch film if you enjoy realistic human community in a dystopian/utopian world.
