I rarely do director watch-throughs but I’m doing won for Mike Leigh. I cannot believe this film got zero major BAFTA nominations, let alone the Oscars. Marianne-Jean Baptiste is giving close to the best performance of the year, it’s honestly good enough to win Best Actress and she should at the very least have been nominated instead of KSG.

All four episodes of this are stellar, but my favourite was episode 2. How they coordinated 200+ teenagers for one take I can’t even fathom.
Only takes a day to watch, and is one of the best things Netflix has ever put out.
