The Dark Knight 2008
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
On a rewatch, I realized how much I failed to notice the story of Harvey Dent because I was so dazzled by Heath Ledger’s performance of the Joker. One, Christian Bale is an amazing Bruce Wayne. Two, Harvey Dent is…a blight on this film. His story, which sets up the contrast of the dark knight vs the white knight, is hardly compelling. Did we all forget that two-face was a part of this movie?

A Real Pain 2024
What initially struck me as an odd ending has stuck with me. Beyond truly incredible acting performances and scenes so full of hope, pain, and occasional banal joys, I’m left with this question: do our travels change us? How often do we set on a journey, hoping to be someone else by the end, hoping for our lives to be transformed by our pilgrimage? If only pain knew such straightforward remedies.
