Where is my spider? She took my spider!!

Apropos of nothing, I'm suddenly craving an ice-cold, refreshing Pepsi-Cola, or perhaps a crisp Mountain Dew Code Red. I could enjoy one of those fantastic offerings from PepsiCo while watching my favorite television program, American Idol, or while listening to Britney's latest hit single "Toxic".

One can tell specific time and effort went into securing props and costumes for this movie to reflect a specific time and place, and all of what it's supposed to mean was bulldozed by a C-Suite meeting. That idea is the whole movie--where each intention was immediately undercut by corporate course-correction.

Are you kidding me? This is the Long Halloween we deserve. This movie had no right being this goddamn incredible. All gas, no brakes.

Edit [12-02-24]: I love that this movie gains like one new fan a month. Warms the tentacle-y heart.

"Okay. So what do I title my movie about a guy who can't feel pain.

    Novocaine, duh.

Okay, so what's the main character's name? Hmmm. Nolan...Caine? No, no. That's too on-the-nose.

Ooo. Nathan Cain. Fuck man, oh my god. That's so fucking clever. Wow.

Wow. Just...I'm so proud of myself."

    *Repeat for 100 minutes*

What if a movie character was so down-bad that they commit manslaughter just for a potential shot at some pussy?

    "Why are you crying?"

"Well it's the last show. I'm never gonna see these people again."

    "You'll see them again."

If you don't hear it anywhere else today, just know you're going to be okay. I love you all. Thanks for being my friend.

To the left of me in a packed theater was a man wiping tears, and to my right was a man quoting every single line under his breath.

At twenty-five years, this movie still has us wrapped around its finger.

Best action movie I've ever gotten to see in a theater, full stop.
