Described by the director as a ‘horror that leaned into comedy’.

Everything I don’t like about horror-comedy and general B-movie style filmmaking. The laughs weren’t great and it ultimately felt like laughing at rather than with the film.

I am firmly a fan of cosmic horror being allegorical for women’s trauma.

I really enjoyed this it was definitely my favourite watch of Fright Fest. Something about the house really felt like the original Resident Evil game.

I was so intrigued by the synopsis and excited to kick off Glasgow Fright Fest with this. However, it was a let down.

The concept was so intriguing but the film can’t seem to decide what it wants to share with the audience. It introduces numerous strands of possible plot points and then abandons all of them with no explanation.

I’m not asking a film to over-explain or not trust the viewer to make their own interpretation. But you have to give us something to interpret.

It did look beautiful, however, and the score was great.

    BIG fan of this.

Really interesting debut which brought a fresh take to modern dystopia. The Australian outback builds the sense of dread and isolation with stunning visuals.

I felt that while many of the story beats were clear from the opening 20 minutes, their reveal was only stronger because of this. You think it can’t be that bad, then it is and it is profoundly sad.

I sensed inspiration from Valdimar Jóhannsson‘s ‘Lamb’ throughout.

Can’t wait to watch this again!
