Every now and then I find something on Criterion that I’m confident no algorithm would ever serve up. A movie star rom com from a mythical 90s New York that I’ve somehow never never heard of despite being a self professed fan of NY-set rom coms and a longtime Cage devotee. The cast and the locations pull a lot of weight, hard to imagine it being made on this scale today.

Watched at the Village East w/ Kyra. Theatre 5 in the basement, curtain aspect ratio a bit off. Salty, salty popcorn but they gave me an Eras Tour cup and said it saved me $3 on the price of my drink.
Watched @ the Paris. Screening began w/ 70mm but issues abounded and it ultimately switched to digital. Rather remarkable to watch a scene replayed in digital after 70mm, the blacks were wiped out in particular, and sadly the curtains became off ratio as well.
