  James Cameron is clearly obsessed with poorly written marines (if not the armed forces in general):
  Rambo 2 = technically green berets
  Aliens = space marines
  The Abyss = technically navy SEALs
  Avatar 1 = a return to space marines Avatar 2 = reincarnated space marines

  He took one little break with Titanic, but I feel like I just found the rosetta stone of his oeuvre...
