Hilarious to me seeing people complain about historical inaccuracies and being unable to separate the movie itself from Mel Gibson’s personal life. It’s just people watching this knowing he directed it and looking for any minor detail to criticize. Get over yourselves and keep your virtue signaling off the movie app please.

Anyways… great movie! Love the world building, costumes, and the cast of unknowns. There’s much more of a genuine story than I expected. The scenes at the temple/pyramids were so unique and honestly something I don’t think I’ve seen in a movie before. What an awesome, underrated action flick.

Perfect screenplay. Perfect score. It hits every time.

Yes it was a little long, but I was super impressed with the level of world-building done in just one movie. Really hoping to see more of the Imperium in part 2. There’s a lot of potential, so we’ll see if it meets the expectations.

I was getting serious Star Wars prequels vibes when they started talking about the “politics” and I was a little worried they would focus too much on that, but thankfully we didn’t get the same confusing and unnecessary subplots.

Robert Eggers has the goods. I haven’t seen any of the older, traditional vampire movies which made it easier to go in with an open mind and a blank slate. Gonna be tough to beat this adaptation. The presentation of Count Orlok’s castle was so well done. It’s insane how unrecognizable Bill Skarsgard is. The horror genre is typically one that I avoid, but I’ll make an exception for pretty much anything Eggers does.
