  There's a great old interview with John Lasseter when he talks about taking the first Pixar short The Adventures of Andre and Wally B to a computer animation conference. All the other films were tech demos of floating shapes and orbs and stuff, whereas the Pixar film had characters and a narrative.   The guy who made Chinese Ghost Story asks himself "Can I do the same thing, but with guys on dirtbikes instead of Chinese folklore?"

  The answer is mostly yes.

  Michelle Yeoh remains the coolest woman on the planet, and the final 20 minutes are masterful.
