Sad but big hearted, aching and wide-eyed and fundamentally optimistic. Wonderful, wonderful.

A brutal, visionary performance, anchored to a play that holds us in its horrific grasp from the first word.

One complaint: the final visual is marred by the sound.

For such a talky, verbose play, the literal end would have benefited from silence, a subtler, achingly sadder touch.

No matter: still amazing, spellbinding. Jodie Comer does battle with the gods, and emerges bruised, broken, battered, but ultimately victorious.

Watched regular cut once, and directors cut once.

An absolute maximalist masterpiece. One of my recent favorites. It's not a horror movie, and that's what I love so much about it.
