Interesting backstory, but I cant quite see the relevance of why he had to be a card counter. In a sense it felt like two parallel stories, where the narrative of the backstory would have made a far better film.
The character development was not that strong, and I felt like the ending didn’t quite make sense. The main character was a cliché masculine type, with only moments of affect that seemed authentic and gave the character a momentary 3-dimensionality.

Interesting character study, as well as scenery and aesthetics. The plot and narrative arch is quite minimalistic with little dialogue. One is in a sense left without a distinct feeling of the different characters motivations, rendering the film more unavailable.
