Final shot and a few visual flourishes aside, I didn't get too much out of this that I haven't already seen in other iterations of this story. Skarsgard's dialog in English is mostly indiscernible. One wishes that all of it was subtitled, not just the Romanian/Russian/German/whatever else was spoken.
A bit more jump scare-y and bloody than I expected which wasn't an unwelcome surprise.
