It's really tough being an insecure person trying to pretend otherwise. Always looking for the acceptance of others at the expense of your own. Learning to live for yourself and what you want to do. And he did. Nothing but respect for this guy. A hugely creative, hard-hitting and moving piece of work.

This was more poetic, and funny at times (tho perhaps finding the humor in some scenes was my own doing) than I thought it would be. Lots of very nicely constructed scenes. I'm glad that Eggers continues to deliver on that front.

A juggernaut of sci-fi. We are a grain of sand moving through a desert. Part 2 takes up the ideas laid out in 1 and makes us question them: Does destiny exist or do we decide our own path? Does faith guide us or blind us? All this at the center of a conflict of epic proportions. Once again blown away by the production, the music, and every new face with special mention to Austin Butler. Can't wait to see it again.

The thing about anime movies is that you either come up with a story that naturally connects to canon or make a very unique one, and I'm sorry, but random treasure girl who can sing is neither. I will say that the songs are great and I've been listening to them way before I saw this. But I don't think even those can carry the rest.
