I see what he was trying to do, but this story definitely did not age well. One thing I do appreciate is that even with something problematic, he doesn’t make any attempts to justify or glorify it. He simply depicts it as the part of the story.
I’m gonna honest….as a musical biopic about a real person, this was truly awful.
That being said…I could see myself coming back around to it. Next time, I plan to go in pretending this is all fiction because honestly to me it might as well be. Who are these people?
