Sundance gold. A film that deals with the dark and lonely places of life but with so much sensitivity and careful optimism. It made me feel emotions deeply and I felt so warmed by the whole experience of watching it. Quirky but not trite, complex emotions but conveyed with great simplicity and economy. Doesn't try to be an enormous film, but captures so much. Lovely score too.

Mildly traumatising and validating for anyone who has dared to produce a film before. Grégoire's character is fantastically written - that quiet and sometimes ridiculous unwavering attitude. But not in a particularly heroic or tenacious way, just constantly moving, constantly talking on the phone, and constantly fighting whichever fire gets to him first in the enormous wildfire that's raging behind the scenes.
