Requiem for a Dream 2000
This movie has a pretty strong hipstery/movie nerd feel to it. It feels like one of those stories that people delve into very heavily and talk about a lot of things that I kinda think are a stretch. I didn't really love the plot and wasn't overly impressed by the acting, even by Jared who I like. With all of that being said, the way this movie was shot was different than any movie I've seen, making it stand out…

Prior to seeing this, listened to a podcast with Jonah Hill discussing the film. For me it really set the stage for the film, and I came in with high expectation. Having non-actors and people that actually skate playing the main roles made this movie feel real, especially in regards to when the kids are BS'ing in the skate shop. Lots of good character development, specifically with Ray and sunburn. One of the better new movies I have seen recently. 4.5 kinda high though @treybelzer
