Naila and the Uprising 2017
gorgeous documentary about the integral role of women in the first intifada. the drawings are so simplistically but affectingly rendered, and the archival footage is similarly moving. i learned so much about the intifada in these 75 minutes, and about the brave women behind it. free palestine 🇵🇸

why did this have so many slurs
truly viscerally disliked this fake-deep beleaguered commentary on capitalism and being outside the norm or whatever. this is clearly made for white girls who feel different, a demographic i’m not in and find it hard to relate to. the main guy was a total POS. every person of color was a stereotype (black drug dealers, black convenience store thief, latina housekeeper). the script and acting were awful. i cannot believe people enjoyed this
