  Read the book years ago and looked forward to the adaptation.  Maybe I don’t get it but this just did not work for me.  Overly complicated story telling for a story full of merit worth exploring .

  Little heavy handed and could have used a trimming.  Couple characters just completely non value add and don’t have a story wrapped up.

  Still a fun time,  big fan of the director overall.

  Visually stunning film, same as most Del Toro films, and what I believe is his best film since Pan's Labyrinth. Preface this with saying I've never seen the original this film is based on.

  Bradly Cooper has another solid performance, and the Cate Blanchett is just her good scene chewing self here. Maybe a spoiler here but I liken this to an Uncut Gems in a setting that I found much more enjoyable. Both films are excellent though.

  4 solid performances tackle a difficult subject. I've not seen a film that really dives into the impact of this tragedy on parents od the perpetrators parents equally to thr victims. Not a fun movie, but I was glued in thay room with them.
