  A progressively unhinged Nic Cage does progressively worse things in this movie that gets progressively better as you watch it. Despite its wildly direct-to-video name and cover, this is a gritty and grimy Werner Herzog film that is weirdly better than it appears to be.
  Also: A surprisingly stacked cast, including Val Kilmer, Jennifer Coolidge, and some actual great acting from X-To-The-Z Xzibit

  Producers Cut
  A significant improvement on the theatrical in that it fills in the gaping wide plot holes and sticks with the Thorn plot line right through the end. It also clears up the goals of Thorn and the source of the baby. What it doesn’t do is make a good movie.
