An overwhelming, beautiful, and absurd piece of art that physically wore me out. I came in expecting a Swiss Army Man pace but this was a 1,000mph whitewater rafting trek down a 2,500 mile river.
I don’t know how they storyboarded this. Let Daniels do whatever they want.
Man, it’s hard to overstate how much I love this movie. Obviously the church set piece is insane (as are most of the action sequences), but there’s like a half hour portion of this movie that’s basically one long training montage (so not really a montage, and moreso legitimate storytelling where training occurs but whatever) which is phenomenal and very much my ish. It’s a perfectly paced and well structured storyline. The characters are fantastic. Positively excessive in every regard.…
