Son of Godzilla 1967
Honestly, I think this one gets a lot right.
It’s really cool how the enemy kaiju actually pose a threat to the humans in this one, it actually feels like their lives are in danger in a genre that frequently struggles to keep the human and monster storylines neatly aligned. I think it’s really cool that Godzilla and Minilla both get actual character arcs, if you’re going to anthropomorphize the kaiju you might as well treat them as actual characters…
