“Didn’t your grandma just die? She aint even in the ground yet”

This is so chaotic and just pure fun. A real comedy feel with great chemistry and some amazing acting chops. The credit score scene is one of the funniest bits i’ve seen ever. Immediate hood classic.

Recommended to me by the biggest film buff I know and for good reason. So whimsical in its approach, yet so aggressively political, in your face and unwavering. A fun watch that has continued to hold its own in my mind. My ‘white voice’ has seemingly been a bit quiet since this dropped. Its wild to laugh and then absolutely relate and want to cry at such great speeds. THAT FUCKEN ‘YOURE BLACK SO YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO RAP’ SCENE WAS TOOOO CLOSE TO HOME AND UNCALLED FOR. Will be watching again very soon.

He represents the very problem that James Baldwin attempts to shed a light…

I went into the cinema knowing very little about the lore or the original film. A few minutes in, the feeling of a classic gothic horror began to set in and I got the hint. The film tonally touches on so many different aspects, never dumbing down the material to make it ‘palatable’. The performances are essential to selling the dialogue, within minutes of being on screen Lily Rose Depp commits herself wholeheartedly and in the second and third acts…
