A fun first half-hour, full of extravagant gore, bully girls, and inspiring gags, all thrown away when it shifts to the modern day with boring brotherly strife and bad acting.
In the end, I’m glad to see Perkins trying to have fun, but it’s too messy to land its comedic intentions, and it just doesn’t embrace its silliness enough.
