It's a Wonderful Life 1946
It’s a timeless Christmas classic - the best one, in fact. Yet, what makes it so powerful? Well, It is perhaps one of the greatest redemption stories ever put to film. It is an intimate tale of community superseding individualism, of selflessness vanquishing greed, and, ultimately, of God’s providential love assuaging our primal fears of ambitions evaporating and years piling up with no foreseeable speck of meaning. The dreams of what could have been may tear at the fabric of our souls; nevertheless, God’s love endures, and His plan prevails. That life is worth living. Just ask George Bailey.

United 93 2006
It’s somewhat jarring to me watching this. Most of my entire memory consists of a post 9/11 world, so seeing that change in the American psyche happen on screen is harrowing.
While it’s not an entertaining movie (at all) in the traditional sense, it’s one that is so vividly well done, without Hollywood sensationalism, it makes for an immensely effective memorial of the passengers of that fateful flight. May we never forget them nor all the others who fell victim to terrorism.
