    How is this one worse!?
I’m not a “plot hole” kind of viewer… but like, damn this movie and its premise was built entirely on a house of cards three sheets to the wind. Why is Newt even involved in all this? To say nothing of the mind numbing world building brimming with asinine decisions.
All that side, the whole thing still suffers from a lack of clear motivation for its characters. I don’t care about any of these people,…

Eddie Redmayne is great is this, and I like the character of Newt. Jude Law is good as young Dumbledore. The kernel of an idea around Alison Sudol's character getting radicalized is cool. There's some decent creature designs

Other than that... damn the writing of this sucks. The pacing is all over the place, the exchanges between characters carry some non-sequators and the premise is just... strange. Utterly bizarre story choices abound her

Deducting another half star because of Rowling and I know if i crack any deeper than "had on in the background while scrolling my phone" there's gonna be some nasty subtext

Hyperbole aside. This was real good, and I highly recommend you see it with the most people you can, on the largest screen you can, with the hardest drink you can. It's damn good. Like...…

Dude really won an Oscar for Parasite then said "nah, I ain't trying with this one". It's not that good. It's not that fun. It is that forgettable. Memorable more for it's ideas than it's execution of them

Which is a shame, because the core concept is rife for comedy, drama and existential questions. But none of that is explored to the fullest. Which is frustrating because there are flashes of brilliance. From the Dinner Party up to the group…
