Using this as a placeholder for Dune: Prophecy S1.
Don't think I've seen a more unevenly paced show as this. Entire episodes where barely anything happens followed by a 80 odd min last episode where everything needs to be crammed in.
Some great ideas and visuals and I'm certainly glad it's been renewed for a second season.
Watched it twice, once on film, 2nd time on IMAX. Just incredible. The word "epic" doesn't do it justice. The few small quibbles I have with the film completely washed away by the scale of it all. We are watching one of the all-time great trilogies unfolding in front of our eyes.
There will be (fair) observations from non-Dune book fans that the ending is perhaps underwhelming and maybe even a little rushed but Villeneuve's direction is as good as…
This is rated 15 in the UK and I also feel this is probably the age you have to be to enjoy the film as well. I remember particularly enjoying the first deadpool but this is not good I'm afraid.
The sheer number of 4th wall breaking Fox / Disney jokes, as if its something we're gripped by, who actually cares! There were some actually funny gags in there but the corporate-based comedy really annoyed me.
Going about actively ruining one of the best final chapters to a superhero as well, truly awful stuff.
