Aaahhh this was so great! ✨💕😭
As simple as this film is, it has a kind of pure, innocent spirit reminiscent of some of the original Disney classics like Bambi and Fantasia, mixed with some of the magic, spectacle, and wonder of nature you might find in a Miyazaki film. Moved me to tears at points.

Not many films can pull at your heartstrings so much without ever feeling the slightest bit dishonest or sentimental like this one. The way it uses realism and simplicity is masterful. It allows us to feel so much more of a connection to the characters and world, and makes the smaller moments feel so much more impactful.
