this fucking ruled lmao. most of oz perkins’ previous work has a morbid sense of humour but up until now it was always buried under a layer of ambient “Art House Horror” energy. here he’s finally just gone buckwild with it and made what i assume will end up being the funniest fucking movie i see all year. like seriously this has the laughs-per-minute ratio of an early simpsons episode, with the gore of a final destination movie. left the theatre in pure bliss. run, don’t walk to see this one, folks!

watched this with my dad. good movie to watch with your dad. fine overall, but i dunno. the first half has a kind of energy to it that completely dissipates around the second half. don’t wanna spoil but there’s a specific plot beat around the midpoint that bifurcates the structure of the film in a way that nearly deflates it. Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson are perfectly cast and work great as foils, and the second half is still enjoyable…
