Very glad I watched this a second time (I probably didn’t pay attention the first time). The perfect amount of boring to tension. Gives you the butterflies of a love story and breaks your heart for the masochism we all have. I still don’t get the Timmy appeal though.
And they were both boys!

I usually am more about an A24 objectively boring movie but this one didn’t really do it for me. From what I’ve heard, I was expecting to like it more. Maybe I’m outgrowing “coming of age”. *sigh* Updates to come

Honestly, was expecting more romance from the impression the internet has given me. Laurie and Jo don’t end up together?? He takes Amy because he couldn’t get Jo? In order to sell it, I wish Amy and Laurie’s story of falling in love would have been more developed. I think the ending kind of sends the wrong message. Yes, Jo does have it all, but it seems like she has settled for marriage because she feels left out. Also, Florence Pugh has snogged Timmy AND Harry Styles? Incredibly jealous. Overall, high expectations weren’t quite met.
Really good movie, can’t go as far to say great. Ending made up for the rest being a little slow.
