  hmm hated the first episode but then i liked the second and third. bishop’s nursery has some great off white plaster and wood elements. interesting to see harriet andersson pop up as one of the maids. lots of strange twists and turns. some confusion about what goes on at uncle isaak’s. some characters i loathed!

  i mean the film looked beautiful but what is up with hollywood still continuing to completely normalizing pedophilia?? like uhhh wtf. and also the unnecessary “asian” accent as purely humor… lol it’s 2022… good one pta. 

  and of course making the main haim girl as very lolita-esque desired bc she looks like she could be 15 but is 25.

  what a completely bizarre and unnecessary storyline. 

  very interesting choice casting the two main leads as both very desired. i did like that choice bc they are not at all like in irl but they both had certain charms.

  oh dzam pretty freaking great!!! it really did justice to the vibes of the book but the tone was even more serious. love dv’s interpretation! the harkonens were nasty af. can’t wait to see part two and hopefully beyond. timmy plays paul well. soundtrack was sicario but on crack so i’m glad i didn’t watch in imax. matched the harsh world. such brutalist architecture really set the scene as well. dv’s vision is consistent with blade runner, arrival, and now dune.
