this movie is explicitly popaganda (hehe). I am wary of heavy-handed political allegories that resign themselves to the electoral: only the good or the bad ever wins by the end. and in the narrative where the good wins, the war is over. this is a story with absolutely no real engagement with the characters’ relationships to the church itself.
