  Now that's an ending. Very, very late to this but this is exactly the sort of thing I love. Very, very sure that the Duffer brothers watched this when it came out and it left a big impression on them 👀. Oh, did i mention the ending? Wow.

  Is it another hit from the Bong?!? Commercially, we'll have to wait and see (screening was not very busy on day two of release) but creatively it absolutely is. Very different from Parasite but I loved how bold it was in its choices. The tone is quite broad (esp. Ruffalo!) and it's not really the film that the trailer promises but it's a smart and funny original scifi and that's always a win for me. Pattinson and Pattinson are both superb.

  Every time a new moment catches my eye. This time: Indy in the map room, looking for the right slot to insert the staff (stop sniggering). He finds it but it's an undisturbed slot, proving that even if Belloq had the right staff length (stop sniggering) he would still have been digging in the wrong place. Every time I watch I am more convinced it may be the best film ever made.

  Every art form has its pinnacle, the masterwork that defines the medium. Incredible to think that for cinema that moment came in 1985. Welcome back John. So glad you could make it.
