Could have been a 5 star without Ruffalo portraying a certain political figure so poorly. Truly takes you out of the other storylines and characters in this film that work so well. Distracting and poorly performed.
Liked this way more than I thought I would. Disturbing to the point of covering my eyes in parts, but really memorable and gripping movie. Moore and Qually were both phenomenal.
There’s a lot to say about this movie but I’ll keep it brief — wonderful first 75%, awful final 25%. It was like the screenwriter realized they had to wrap it up and hap-hazardly threw together the final chapter.
Overall it the script did a great job of developing interesting characters, and I enjoyed the performances + score. The film kept my attention throughout but fell beneath my lofty hopes for it.
A remarkable, horrifying film. The first person narration really worked, and the ending kept me on my toes. The time jumps worked, as well.
Slightly longer than it had to be with a bit of meandering in the middle and an over reliance on historical footage. But overall, one of the best movies of the year.
