First and foremost, Moira Shearer danced her ASS off. An absolute vision.
The Ballet of the Red Shoes sequence...wow. Watching her piqué turn through the falling colored cellophane made me gasp aloud. Indescribably beautiful.

This film has been on my watchlist for a long while. I had always known of Kurosawa’s notoriety and influence, particularly this film, but I lacked the follow up in viewing. Blasphemy. My film teacher initially introduced me to Kurosawa in college, showing Rashomon in class, and my friend Matt showed me Dreams roughly 5 or 6 years ago (thank you, sir).
