Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
I knew I was going to like this. Even with the run time and how it was advertised like a historical slow burning epic. But I forgot the energy Scorsese puts into these films especially with the soundtracks choices, smooth camera movements and choppy edits (the always fun Thelma Schoomaker).
Excellent cast. We have heart throb Leo at his ugliest, Robert De Niro at his scariest (talking about the guy who played Travis Bickel and Jake LaMotta) and Lily Gladstone drawing us to her in every frame she’s in even when she shares it with these two screen legends.

There’s a lot to deal with here. Really this is one of the most haunting films ever.
I thought a bit about Scorsese's "the Aviator" and it made me google search Christopher Nolan's unmade Howard Hughes biopic potentially starring Jim Carey. The Aviator is one of my favorites but I would have loved to see Nolan's vision as well.
