  It felt a bit hollow, with all of Rustin’s history with the civil rights movement glossed over in montage at the beginning, and then small bits sprinkled through the remainder of the script. And as a biopic it felt a bit incomplete what with it really only covering the events in the lead up to a single big event in Rustin’s life (probably his biggest, but just one nevertheless), and then providing no commentary on anything that followed.

  This felt a bit incomplete and disjointed, and yet I really liked it. Ibo was endearing, Ali was charismatic and the story managed to keep me invested despite its problems.
