She rescues one of her servants who was unfairly imprisoned, saves the Prince from ruffians by fireman carrying him (and later befriends said ruffians), and clocks her stepsister in the face.
I know Drew Barrymore as an actress is a hit or miss for a lot of people, but I adore her in this. I think it's perfectly casted, beautifully composed and costumed, very well written with surprisingly good humor. Probably my favorite adaptation of Cinderella.

Loved this film! I love the layers of interpretation and lens you can view this story in, from being queer, specifically ace, to being neurodivergent, to just being a bit of an outsider. I love the awkwardness of Sasha and Paul and the humor and support their family members offer them. I had no idea how it was going to end, but once the ending came, it was perfect. The cinematography and the lighting were also great enhancers to this delightful morbid and surprisingly funny film.

I watched this so many times as a kid, I had every line of dialogue and lyric memorized. My stars are for nostalgia.
But I would pick Pips over Zak every time. His appeal and chemistry with Crysta was stronger in 30 seconds than the any of the 45 minutes Zak was on screen.
My second pick would be Tim Curry as Hexxus, just because of Toxic Love.

The old man subplot both breaks and heals my heart every time.

Also, Catherine O'Hara is amazing in this, as always.
