The animation looks like a shitty video game cutscene, and that’s charming in its own way. Terrible sound design, and a rather dull plot. Unremarkable characters that blend together. However, the first thirty minutes of buildup to the reveal of the threat were a real treat, the way it built tension, makes me think there was a vision under this mess, and maybe in a better world, this would have been a great movie and GW would have used its success to make more warhammer films.

lmao. Hard to critique this without mentioning studio interference messing up Mr Lynch’s vision. It’s a strangely silly film, and I find his interpretations of concepts in the book very interesting. The voice, the weirding module, folding space, the strange cat/rat poison device. The ending also turns Paul into the savior that he is not. I’m glad I did not watch this in a theatre
This is an extremely grotesque, yet also gorgeous film. Bright colors, exaggerated characters, sets that feel intentionally artificial, and a premise straight out of a pulpy horror magazine. The soundtrack is great too. The body horror and gore made me squeamish. Injections terrify me greatly. I would not take the substance.
