Rewatched Jin-Roh for the first time maybe since high school, and realized, "Oh, it's not an action movie - it's a really deliberately-paced, anti-fascist political thriller told from the point of view of people working for the fascist police forces." Its animation, visual and audio design, and music are all just as beautiful as ever.

Star Wars 1977
Watched Star Wars for the first time in forever. Foundational to my childhood. And even though I can see all of the strings now, there is something still magical about this movie. Missing Link 2019
It has gorgeous stop-motion animation, solid performances from Grant, Galifianakis, and others, and some good messages, but the script isn't consistent with how or why the world responds to Mr. Link, and the finale plays so loose with physics, and sets up nothing clever to pay off in the action, that by the end I was just waiting for it to wrap up.
