Just as I was warned, I’ve come out the cinema with serious blue balls and can’t wait for the next film. It literally did exactly what it said on the tin. Only drawback is probably due to the amount of semi-main characters. They gave everyone, bar Tim, similar screen time and you can’t really connect with any of them. From what I remember of the book, it unsurprisingly gave better character development. I guess they’re just setting the scene, hence provisional rating subject to change.

Joint top favourite Taika film (with what we do in the shadows). Incredibly heart warming and the first film in a while to make me feel quite emotional, probably due to the fact it involved a child dealing with family issues. I’m fortunate to have watched a few top scoring films recently, all have been well deserved. I may adopt the insult ‘egg’ after watching this. I think Taika and others really smashed it here. Thanks to María for the recommendation. This film is entering my favourite section.
