When you think things can’t get any worse, they do. Kinda like Coen brothers, set in South Korea, but waaay darker, bleaker, and more brutal. And then it gets so absurd that you are supposed to laugh, but can’t really. Watching decent people make bad decisions under dire circumstances that leads to a chain reaction and cruelty and vengeance spiral out of control is not necessarily always enjoyable, but this movie stayed with me for a while

Monsieur Hulot's Holiday 1953
This movie is just splendid! It’s so incredibly silly, but it made me laugh out loud several times. It also feels weirdly nostalgic - not all movies do. Maybe music? It somehow looks like my parents’ childhood could look, but in Russia. So many different characters depicted with almost no dialogue. And man, that swinging door… Will definitely be rewatching

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie 2024
Do you have any idea how hard it is for male ducks to lay eggs?
It was fun. Not 💯, but very enjoyable. Really liked Saul Bass styled sequence, reference to The Night of the Living Dead; some jokes were great. But also, some scenes were too much and even kinda cringey… And the whole saving the earth idea - I mean, how many times does it need to be saved?
But the main flaw - why couldn’t they bring Bugs?? Even if it didn’t fit? Who cares
