It is rare for a film to touch me so deeply. A profoundly beautiful story which reveals and helps us deal with our ghosts from the past, and even, those from the future.

Barbie is a thought-provoking film that powerfully interrogates patriarchal ideology using the inherent humanity within us. The film is incredibly smart in the way it highlights how women have to navigate both past and contemporary society. The story delves into the complexities of gender roles, expectations and tragedies of power structures. Through stylised and thematic qualities, the film, in my opinion, transcends categorisation.
