The first half felt like the writers were trying to reheat Ryan Murphy Scream Queen nachos then it turned into Billy and Stu from Scream fanfiction. Still really fun and cuter than I was expecting. There’s room for some fun sequels.

I love that this whole film was made in Seattle and Tacoma. Stellar cast, feels very very 90s in the best way. The cinematography is really beautiful and the filming locations, too.

Phenomenal acting on all parts. Lily Rose Depp and Willem Defoe bring so much to their roles but in totally different ways. The hair, makeup and costuming created the exact time and place the story takes place.

    Cinematography is excellent.

This folklore depiction of Count Orlok, the Romanian villagers, environment, etc. is everything.

If you don’t “get” this movie or felt it was too long, it’s probably because you were expecting a modern horror, but this is a slow-burn gothic horror. The story, themes, and characters are what is supposed to be scary.

Enjoyed this movie. It started to feel a bit too long and grotesque for me toward the end, however, the message is loud and clear. I’m curious whether the director approached Moore for the role or if she auditioned. Her performance was the best and while I haven’t seen a whole lot of her other work, this role stands out. Memorable film.
