“Let’s go to the other side. The view will be better there.”

Forever drawn to (and from) each other, Wiktor and Zula’s doomed love crosses, then falls over every obstacle put in front of it in heartbreaking fashion.

A film about sacrifice and ever-lasting love, with one of my favourite endings I’ve seen

F**k. I cannot remeber the last time I was so disappointed by a film

I implore anyone, anyone who even remotely enjoys CMBYN, to read the book, as it is levels above the film.

The beauty of the book stems from Elios internal monologue, which easily takes up a a third if not half of the book; the raw, tender, poetic, emotion which is shown through it, Is completely lost in the film

    Actually kinda shite.

Tried to do so much without really doing anything, characters felt pretty one-dimensional which really didn’t help the jumpy narrative

Mad orgy in the middle was out there

Linklater's ability to bring so much depth to characters through abstract conversations and thoughts or even the simple mundane conversations about "how was your week" will never fail to amaze me, and his dialogue is probably my favourite.

I love how boyhood captures difficulties and joys of life in a coming of age of not just Mason Jr, but also of his Mum and Dad, mum's partners, Sister... probably the best all round coming of age film out there for this very aspect (no doubt aided by it being filmed over 12 years)

A great watch very close to a 5*

“Robins better than the girl of my dreams… she’s real”

90% of the discourse I’ve seen on (500) Days of Summer is a war on characters and genders. Either Tom is a selfish entitled ‘nice guy’ or Summer is a ‘bitch.’ For me, neither of these are accurate.

For me this movie is about romanticism and the failings of men to understand women. Toms quote that “It's these greeting cards, these movies, these pop songs. They're responsible for all the…
