  one of those films where nothing happens. extremely 2010 in all the best ways.

  a bunch of miserable racist white US settlers suffer and struggle through the oregon trail and make a wrong turn (or a few). it's unclear whether they make it, but that's not really the point. you just get to join them for a little bit of it. tense, slow-burn, and very tactile, you're really in the thick of it. uuuhhhhm

  quality feel-good action. no notes for improvement really. it's a classic format: two misunderstood characters with obvious flaws, mutual dislike, and a healthy dose of the hedgehog's dilemma are forced together by circumstance and grow to love and understand not only one another, but themselves. i liked the acting, the cute script, and thought it had some subtle & tasteful nods to the era in the cinematography/editing. perfect for a cold winter's day when you need a warming watch <3

  very pretty! gorgeous costume design, beautiful direction, very striking visuals. really captured a sense of horror that had my breath caught in my chest for pretty much the whole duration. very dramatic and appropriate use of setting and landscape to retell the classic vampire story (with a healthy dose of victorian-esque exoticisation of the romanian peasantry).

  i felt it had a couple of drawbacks, unfortunately. the striking visuals were let down for me by the confused and drawn out plot…

  not sure how i feel about this one!
  it's fast, it's entertaining, it's low-brow, it's slightly artsy, and it's very very horny. it feels like it's aimed at queer teenagers that would have been into tarantino 10 years ago, but aren't now for obvious reasons.

  i had v few expectations going into this but i enjoyed the scene setting and the pace at the beginning. the full throttle storytelling and unrelentingly fast cuts wore on me by the ending, and…
