  about as subtle as a sledgehammer but i guess thats what you have to do nowadays. a film so charming and cute i might forgive the attempt at electoralism at the end. would like to give robert pattinson his flowers for playing two characters and keeping them convincingly distinguishable. also mark ruffalo pulling off a trump impression without being cringe and distracting after 10 years of shitty impressions is genuinely a miracle.

  i really wanted to like this. i cannot bring myself to do it.

  could have been an interesting study into the overlap between egomania and fanaticism, main-character syndrome and extremism. however, it just cannot manage to dig any deeper than surface level.
  teodor is not humanised to any appreciable degree which makes all his actions feel as though the come falling from thin air. all his twisting and wringing of the religious doctrine feels entirely random, it is unclear why…
