  we watched this in a theatre full of white people and I had to remind myself of that when it was just us laughing really loud during certain moments like right the cultural context they don't get it...right...anyway sza best actress campaign about to go crazyyyy.

  stellar performance from karam taher mashallah her brilliance here can't be understated. though the first 20 minutes are an inch compared to the mile of the hour that follows, it perfectly sets it up to capture one of the more insidious horrors of zionist occupation where children are robbed of common anxieties and in their place burdened with worries beyond their years

  didn't enjoy this at all but I did *like* it a lot, that lack of enjoyment being part of its appeal. it's so anti-film. really well made from the acting to the shots to set design to the music but it all feels wasted on its subjects. and ironically I did find myself invested in what was on screen, rarely feeling judgment or disgust. but they really broke down filmmaking as a storytelling medium where everything you see on screen…
